As part of the TTC’s commitment to safety and modernization, Donlands Station (Line 2) will be getting new elevators to provide accessibility, and a new Secondary Exit/Entrance to improve customer safety and convenience. To minimize the duration of overall construction, the TTC will build the Donlands Station Easier Access project at the same time as the second exit/entrance project:

  • The Second Exit/Entrance location is at 17/19 Dewhurst Boulevard.
  • New elevators will serve the existing station entrance at Strathmore Boulevard and Donlands Avenue.
  • New elevators will serve the existing station entrance at Strathmore Boulevard and Donlands Avenue.

Donlands Station Easier Access: Main entrance escalator out of service until July

Timeline: March - July 2023 *Content/timeline accurate at the time of printing

What we are doing and why?

Donlands Station is a part of the TTC’s Easier Access Program, which includes making the station accessible with the construction of two new elevators.

In order to carry out this work, hoarding has been installed on the main stairwell leading from the street level to the concourse level of Donlands Station. The construction hoarding has reduced the width of the staircase. In line with TTC safety procedures, the main entrance escalator has been taken out of service and is being used as a staircase for both directions of pedestrian traffic. Donlands Station escalator will be out of service for approximately 5 months. For customers requiring elevators, please continue to Pape or Coxwell stations. Greenwood Station’s escalators are currently in service as another travel option.

Work details

  • The work will take place behind the hoarding in the stairwell leading from the entrance / exit to the concourse level of Donland’s Station. The escalator will remain open for customers to use as a staircase. The escalators to the Line 2 platforms will remain fully operational. Customers who require an accessible alternative to Line 2 should travel to Pape or Coxwell stations.
  • The escalators will be out of service and used as staircase only until July.
  • Efforts will be made by on-site personnel to keep noise to a minimum
  • There will be no disruption to bus or subway service at Donlands Station for this work.
