Wi-Fi In Our Stations and Cellular Service
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi service is now available at all subway stations in the system. Check out www.tconnect.ca for more details.
To connect your mobile device to the Wi-Fi network, select network: TCONNECT within your device’s Wi-Fi setting. Once you select the network and open a browser you will see our welcome screen with instructions for access.
There is no cost to connect within the TTC subway system; however, TCONNECT is ad-supported, meaning an advertiser is sponsoring the Wi-Fi service with short ads. Ad-supported Wi-Fi service allows us to provide this amenity at no cost to TTC riders. The installation of this service comes at no cost to the TTC, TTC riders or Toronto taxpayers. In fact, it will generate revenue for the TTC.
There will not be Wi-Fi coverage between stations and in tunnels but as soon as the train enters the next Wi-Fi enabled station your device will automatically re-connect to the Internet.
If you have questions or difficulty assessing the TCONNECT Wi-Fi network please send us a message at info@TCONNECT.ca or call our Help Desk at 416-777-9434 (WiFi).
Cellular Coverage In Our Stations
Cellular-capable infrastructure is being installed alongside the TCONNECT Wi-Fi network across the subway system by BAI Canada. When wireless carriers activate their service on our network, riders will be able to make and receive calls, as well as send text messages within stations. Currently, more than 30 stations in the system are cellular-ready. Please check www.baicanada.com for more details and updates.
In June 2015, Freedom Mobile became the first wireless service provider to activate their service on our network. Since then, Freedom Mobile customers have been enjoying cell service at many TTC stations. BAI Canada and Freedom Mobile continue to work together to extend Freedom Mobile’s cellular coverage across the network.
The cellular infrastructure is built-in to the wireless network and fully capable of allowing cellular connectivity from all major service providers in Toronto.
